New Mothers Should Sleep More to Lose Weight

According to a recent study, women who recently gave birth should sleep more if they want to lose weight. According to a Sydney Morning Herald article about the study, ” They found that mothers who slept five hours or less a day when their babies were six months old were three times more likely than more rested mothers to have kept on the extra weight at one year.”

This sounds like a win-win, more sleep and less weight, but I can’t imagine it is very easy for mothers of newborns to get any sleep, let alone more sleep. Your thoughts?

  1. I can still remember my youngest son’s birth and the amount of sleep my wife would get. As much as I wanted to help, my wife loved getting up and breast feeding. I really don’t know how she did it. I finally convinced her to express her milk so I could help out and she was able to sleep more. I didn’t know it at the time, but when I look back, yes she was back to her weight in no time. I wonder if I was able to help with that? Guys, it’s time to step up!

    1. If you are actually hyrpyhtooid you can be prescribed syntharoid (AKA thyroxin) by a doctor. It’s a synthetic version of the hormone that hyrpyhtooid people don’t produce enough of. As it’s identical to the actual hormone, there are no side effects. If you aren’t already taking syntharoid it will help with weight loss, as it increases you metabolism to a normal level.

  2. Hello, This is Mary

I am 36 years old with 2 toddlers. My youngest just started day care last week- which still feels a little strange. I haven’t had this much time to myself in years. First thing I want to do is lose the extra pounds I put on during the last pregnancy. One of the girls next door has suggested I join her walking group two days a week. After my first pregnancy I lost around 35 pounds using the Herbalife products, but when I called the man that sold them to me three years ago he told me this week he doesn’t sell them anymore. He told me to look on the internet. It’s disappointing because he was really nice and he called me regularly to make sure I was using their products correctly. It was nice to have someone checking in with me every week to see how I was and it kept me motivated.

I searched on the internet for someone that sells Herbalife in New Jersey. I found many websites but I don’t want
just to buy the products, I want to find someone trustworthy that sells the products so I can also meet them and get started again.

Could anybody here recommend someone in New Brunswick?.

    Thanks, Mary
